From a spiritual point of view there are many reasons we get sick or injured. The concept of Body Symbology may or may not help us understand why, but that is not its purpose. All aspects of who we are try to help us live our lives more fully, accomplish the learning we intend for this life, and help us through difficult times. Body Symbology is a wonderful tool to help us interpret what messages our body is trying to give us about our life.

If you are good at metaphors you will learn this system quickly. "He's a pain in the neck!" is a familiar expression, but unfortunately he isn't the one with the pain in the neck! It could be you who carries the neck pain when he acts that way. So what's your body trying to tell you? It's not about changing him (we can't do that anyway). Your body is trying to help you see that the way you respond to him leaves you in pain (first emotional pain, then physical pain) and you can change that.

At the Thursday program we'll explore more metaphors about neck pain and how to form the questions to ask yourself in order to change your response to ways that work better for you. Then you can get rid of the neck pain! We'll also explore other areas of the body and some diseases as time allows. The goal is for each of you to improve your skills at seeing the metaphors and finding the questions you need to ask yourself.

Channel and Healing Arts Practitioner Leads November Meditations

At the November meeting of SFF, Medium and Healing Arts Practitioner Kim Spalding will lead both the early meditation and the brief meditation before the speaker. At the early session, which begins at 6:30 in the Old Sanctuary, Kim will offer a channeled meditation. Please be on time if you wish to attend so as not to disturb the energy.

Kim Spalding is an advanced La Ho-Chi practitioner. La Ho-Chi is a gentle and loving but powerful form of energy healing. She does sessions in person or remotely. She started doing this work about six and 1/2 years ago. It immediately opened many gifts writing and channeling poetry and books.

About three years ago, Kim started trance channeling and mediumship. Some of the beings who come through are Archangels, Saints, Enlightened and Ascended Masters and the deceased family members, friends and pets of clients. The beings who speak through Kim come to assist us in opening our hearts, souls and minds to embrace and reflect the magnificence we are. They gently and lovingly instill the remembrance that within each of us lies all that we need to be whole and that we are always One with God. Kim does private and group sessions in person or by phone. All sessions are taped.

Kim also holds monthly circles at her home that are open to everyone. At these gatherings, she offers a group meditation and channeling and an opportunity for individuals to ask questions they would like to receive guidance or awareness on. Periodic channelings and notices of upcoming circles are sent through email or by phone for those without email.

Kim has consciously been in learning on her spiritual path for 23 years. Her educational background is in Social Work, Psychology and Special Education. She is a single mother of three children. In her spare time, she reads, writes, plays piano and harp, hikes and does yoga.
