T. Raphael Simons lives in Durham where he practices and teaches feng shui. He is the author of Feng Shui Step by Step, Feng Shui Strategies for Business Success and The Feng Shui of Love. The Feng Shui of Love is coming out at the end of 2006 and is being pulished by Random House.

Simons taught music at Princeton University and Oberlin College before beginning his studies of the occult sciences and embarking on his career as an author and poet. He is the only westener to have studied with the distinguished Taiwanese feng shui expert and Chinese astrologer Terry Lee. He also studied Western astrology with and was a teaching assistant of the late Ivy M.G. Jacobson.

Simons practices feng shui internationally, focusing these days mainly in the NC Triangle and the NY Tri-state areas. He is the founder of Feng Shui Arts through which he certifies people whom he has trained in feng shui and Chinese astrololgy.

In this talk Mr. Simons will discuss what traditional feng shui is and isn't, and show how it develops and is practiced from its basic principles, i.e., the tao, the tai chi, chi, yin and yang and the five elements as expressed in time, space and colors.

He will demonstrate the different Chinese astrological and compass methods, and show how dowsing, as well as the simple form and chi king methods are traditionally used. You will be shown how to calculate your birth star element to find your best spacial orientations and colors for supporting your personal health, luck and relationship harmony.

You will also be shown how to calculate who goes on which side of the bed for a more harmonious marriage. You will also learn how to read, clear and tune the energy of your land and house, and will be introduced to a traditional method of balancing your space within .
