Most of us, whether we’re aware of it or not, possess some degree of intuitive ability: We sense who’s calling before we pick up the phone; we instinctively like or dislike someone we just met; a gut feeling leads us to make a seemingly illogical choice that turns out to be just perfect.
Beyond these occasional “hits,” intuition is a skill that can be practiced and strengthened, providing us with information on demand to use for empowerment and self-improvement, better relationships, solving problems, making decisions, and more. In this talk, Diane Brandon will teach us how to develop it and how to work with the information we receive. She’ll describe the forms, attributes, and characteristics of intuition; share some potential pitfalls to look out for; and tell us how to differentiate an intuitive feeling from an emotional one. With her guidance, we’ll try out some of the techniques she suggests.
Spiritually aware since birth, Diane has been an integrative intuitive counselor since 1992; she focuses on helping others to live to their fullest potential and lead fulfilling lives, drawing upon her own inherently spiritual and mystical orientation. She’s also a radio host; a producer of meditation and other CDs; and the author of two books: Intuition for Beginners: Easy Ways to Awaken Your Natural Abilities, published in April; and Invisible Blueprints: Intuitive Insights for Fulfillment in Life (2005).
It was a long and winding path from her typical middle class childhood in New Orleans to Duke University for a degree in French; graduate school in radio, television, and motion pictures at UNC-Chapel Hill; conventional jobs as a secretary, research assistant, and manager; and self employment in the performing arts. Her early interest in all things metaphysical never waned, however, and in the early 1990s, she was persuaded by a friend to try working as a telephone psychic. As her confidence grew, her concept of what a psychic does evolved from “fortune teller” to “intuitive counselor,” and formed the foundation of the work she does today.
