Mark Malachi
Light, Darkness and the Divine Mother
At this time of year we are called to mercy and compassion. How can we learn to embrace all we are with compassion?

As we approach the holiday season, the theme of light and darkness is a recurring refrain. In this presentation Mark Malachi will illuminate us on the common threads that link the Winter Solstice, Christmas and Channukah.

Using both lecture and song, Mark will explore the mystical, religious and historical motifs of the Season of Light paying particular attention to Jewish, Christian and Pagan notions of the Divine Mother. The spiritual significance of darkness will also be explored, highlighting the importance of embracing our fears, frustrations and failures.

At this time of year we are called to mercy and compassion. How can we learn to embrace all we are with compassion? How can the Divine Mother assist us in becoming whole and integrated beings?

Mark will use original and traditional sacred music in Hebrew and English to punctuate his talk.

Mark Malachi, M.A., M.S.C., Ph.D., is a Jewish Cantor and Rabbinical
student, an ordained Interfaith Minister, a Spiritual Counselor and Healer, an accomplished musician and a world class belly dancer. He has 15 recordings of original and traditional sacred music. Currently Mark is the Spiritual Teacher of the Unity Center of Peace in Chapel Hill. He considers himself to be a "Priest of the Goddess." He serves as a bridge between
Judaism and Christianity, between masculine and feminine, between ancient traditions and new modes of spiritual expression.

Mark's words of wisdom and inspirational music are not to be missed! He might even be coaxed into dancing!

Early Meditation:
Alchemical Initiation

Neesa Moloney

Metaphysician, Astrologer and Integrative Healing Arts Practitioner Neesa Moloney will lead the meditations at the December 2 SFF meeting. In this soul empowering meditation, you will be guided in an alchemical initiation
leading to the transcendent unity of light and dark through which you will experience resolution of inner conflict or confusion that may be operating consciously or unconsciously within your psyche. As we harmonize collectively in this transcendent unity, we will be guided in connecting with the global network of Light Beings and in grounding this Light into the body of Earth, of Gaia, at this time of least light at the Winter Solstice.

Neesa is a Sensitive who was born with the gifts of clairvoyance and clairaudience as well as direct guidance and communication with Angels and Nature Spirits. A lifelong student and teacher of spiritual traditions and
principles, in 1975 Neesa received Direct Transmission in the Crazy Wisdom School of Tibetan Buddhism. She completed a book on meditation entitled Playing Heartsounds in Counterpoint Harmony in 1977. In 1985 she began a seven-year apprenticeship on the Medicine Path in the Chippewa tradition.
Licensed as a Massage Therapist in 1983, Neesa is trained in numerous types of body and energy work out of which she has developed her own unique style, which often incorporates visualization as an Alchemical Integration Process.

In 1990 Neesa began including astrological consultations as part of her Integrative Healing practice. She focuses on the Divine Feminine with particular emphasis on the Lilith triplicity, which reveals the path to
wholeness within the horoscope. "My passion and purpose are to assist individuals in fully embodying their Soul Essence and to assist humanity in Awakening to the Power of the Sacred in Co-creating Heaven Here on Earth in this Now." Neesa may be reached at earthstarising@yahoo.com or
919-933-9294.

The early meditation is held from 6:30
to 7 PM in the Vaughn Wing. Please be on time so as not to disturb the energy of the channeled meditation.
