Mara Bishop, a talented
intuitive and shamanic practitioner with impressive credentials,
will lead the meditations at the January 3 meeting. Mara has
a practice in Durham, North Carolina, as an intuitive consultant,
shamanic practitioner and teacher. Her background includes
a Master's of Science in Energy Medicine from Greenwich University,
Certification in Shamanic Counseling (Harner Method) from
the Foundation for Shamanic Studies and a Bachelor's degree
in Art and Communications summa cum laude from Clark University.
She is also a graduate of the three-year program in Advanced
Shamanism and Shamanic Studies through the Foundation for
Shamanic Studies.
Her natural skills
were developed during a three-year intuitive development program
and apprenticeship with Karen Webster, a consultant and teacher
in New York. Mara's ongoing advanced studies in shamanism
are with Michael Harner, Sandra Ingerman and other faculty
at the Foundation for Shamanic Studies and with other experts
in the fields of shamanism, energetic medicine and anthropology.
During intuitive sessions,
Mara accesses information for clients from non-physical, universal
sources. Information is obtained for clients based on what
they are interested in knowing and also what presents as important
for them in relation to their interests and life situation.
Topics may include relationships, career issues, life lessons,
developing intuition, life path work, managing change and
accessing spirituality through creativity. Readings are intended
to provide clients with a clearer understanding of themselves
and their lives.
Mara uses the following
shamanic techniques with clients: soul retrieval, shamanic
counseling, power animal retrieval, healing journeys, extractions
and divination journeys. She also conducts lectures and workshops
on shamanic journeying and intuitive developmentboth
of which she will be teaching this January and February. In
addition, Mara is an artist who works primarily with paint
and clay. Her artwork is frequently inspired by her spiritual
work and journeying.
