What did these “teachers of love” remember that we can also – and by doing so, change the world: Buddha (Buddhist), Jesus (Jewish), Gandhi (Hindu), MLK (Baptist), Bob Marley (Rasta), Mandela (Methodist), Mother Teresa (Catholic), Tutu (Anglican), Muhammed Ali (Muslim), Mister Rogers (ordained Presbyterian minister), and the Dalai Lama (Tibet Buddhist)? They remembered that a Loving Creator had sent them here to transform all the circumstances into which they were sent through love. And without political, economic or military power, they did. They demonstrated that the power of love, when expressed through us, can overcome great obstacles.

They are the wayshowers and now we, manifesting hundreds of thousands of us, and soon millions, are remembering and transforming the situations into which we are sent. This is how the world will be awakened. It was our Creator’s design all along that after a long and painful “detour into fear,” His/Her children would once again remember their own Divinity. All is on perfect Divine schedule – no matter how it may appear.

Robert Roskind is the author of twelve books that carry a message of unconditional love, several written with Hopi, Havasupai, Mayan, and Rasta Elders.

The counterculture of the 60s and 70s has been viewed as everything from naive to hedonistic; however, most of these views were formed by observing the movement from the outside. Robert Roskind’s book, Memoirs of an Ex-Hippie, Seven Years in the Counterculture, offers a vastly different perspective, one developed from within.

After graduating college in 1968, Robert hit the road for seven years. His personal odyssey reveals this tumultuous era as a cultural and spiritual renaissance that birthed many of the solutions to problems humanity now faces.

Memoirs of an Ex-Hippie, along with several of Robert’s other books, will be for sale at his presentation with a portion of the proceeds going to support SFF.

Robert is also the producer of the record-breaking 1984 PBS series, The Do It Yourself Show, based on his work founding and operating The Owner Builder Center in Berkeley, a non-profit institute that taught people how to design, build and remodel their own passive solar homes.

Since 2002, he has organized and hosted over 200 “One Love Events” in Jamaica, on Native American reservations, prisons, colleges and at public venues in the U.S. All are non-commercial, involve no sponsorship funding and are free to the public. They are non-denominational, apolitical and bring forward a message of universal, unconditional love for all.

Presently Robert operates the Oasis, located inside the Carr Mill Mall, in Carrboro. During the daytime hours, the Oasis operates as a traditional coffee/café/tea/kava lounge. At night, the Oasis transforms into an environment of entertainment, connections and inspiration. On week nights, there are free presentations from local wisdom keepers on life-affirming topics (holistic health, environmental issues, indigenous wisdom, sustainability, etc.). Early Meditation – FREE

Shaman Elizabeth Herrera will lead the Flowing Between Heaven and Earth meditation. This meditation can be used daily to clear one’s chakras, and to connect to the high vibration of the Divine Spirit and the grounding energy of the Earth. It helps reduce physical pain and open the chakras, so that one is more connected to All That Is while enhancing intuitiveness.

Elizabeth is a healer, environmentalist, artist, and author who writes life-changing books.

She was raised in a Christian home, but lost her faith in her early twenties. For over a decade, she searched for something to fill the void, eventually discovering Native American spirituality (shamanism). Through this spiritual practice, she unexpectedly became a catalyst for healing and miracles. These events led her back to a belief in a higher power.

Always drawn to the spiritual side of life, Elizabeth began her shamanic path in Michigan where she learned to shamanic journey with a certified Sandra Ingerman instructor. Then she continued her studies through the Foundation for Shamanic Studies for shamanic journeying, soul retrieval, and death and dying (psychopomp); but, her major source of learning has been from her spirit guides, who offer limitless guidance and lessons on living a more spiritual life.

Elizabeth’s heritage is a mixture of Spanish, Native American and Celtic. She was fortunate to know her great-grandfather, a full-blooded Apache who raised her father. In his youth, the elder smuggled sugar and flour from Mexico into Texas, exchanged gunfire with Texas Rangers and crossed paths with Pancho Villa.
