Have you ever felt that you could sense another person’s energy, so much so that you actually felt it in your own body? If so, you could be an empath, a highly sensitive person who experiences the energy around you, including emotions and physical sensations, in powerful ways. Empaths can energetically internalize the feelings and pain of others — and often have trouble distinguishing someone else’s discomfort from their own. Some empaths also have profound spiritual and intuitive experiences — with animals, nature, or their inner guides — more so than other sensitive people.
If you’d like to know more about being or working with an empath, you are in for a treat at SFF’s March meeting. Drawing upon her extensive background in psychotherapy and spiritual work, Susan Melchione, MSW, will help us explore the tremendous gifts and challenges of being an empath and a highly sensitive person in a largely insensitive world.
Susan will assist us with understanding what takes place energetically, consciously and often unconsciously. She will provide tools and strategies to help us understand and manage the tremendous influx of data and our energetic response.
An empath’s relationships, work life, energy level, and joy can be enhanced or detracted from based on how they use their intentions and energy fields. The information, demonstrations and meditations that Susan will provide are meant to guide us to embrace the true power and joy of being exactly who we are!

Susan Melchione is an intuitive healer, spiritual teacher and a much sought-after speaker, both locally and nationwide. As an empath with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in social work, Susan naturally integrates energy, spirituality and psychology in all of her work.
