What if an encounter with angels could change the way you understand life, loss and the unseen world? For Author and Speaker Lillie Leonardi, it has.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of 9/11, a milestone that has brought renewed attention to the lives forever changed by that tragic day. For Lillie, now a Hay House author of two books on angelic encounters and guidance, September has been especially meaningful. She has been busy speaking at numerous events commemorating the anniversary and sharing the extraordinary spiritual experience that changed the course of her life.

On September 11, 2001, Lillie was serving as an FBI Community Outreach Specialist responding to the crash of United Airlines Flight 93 in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Amid the devastation and heartbreak of the crash site, she says she witnessed something she never expected to see: a field of angels surrounding the site.

That experience became a turning point in her spiritual journey and ultimately led her to explore and develop her own practice of angelic channeling.

On Thursday, October 1, from 7–9 p.m. ET via Zoom, Lillie will bring her remarkable story—and what she has learned since—to Spiritual Frontiers Fellowship in a special presentation, “Whispers From Angelic Wings.” She will share how she experiences angelic communication, how she receives messages and how others can become more aware of their own intuitive and spiritual connections.

Lillie spent more than 25 years in law enforcement, including 12 years with the FBI’s Pittsburgh Division. During the Flight 93 response, she served as a primary liaison between the FBI, United Airlines’ Humanitarian Response Team, surviving family members, law enforcement agencies and social service organizations. She participated in daily briefings and helped coordinate two memorial services.

Yet amid the factual, logistical and deeply painful realities of the disaster, Lillie experienced something that challenged her understanding of the world—a legion of angels surrounding the crash site.

The experience became the subject of her first memoir, In the Shadow of a Badge: A Memoir About Flight 93, A Field of Angels, and My Spiritual Homecoming, published by Hay House in 2012.

Lillie describes herself as someone who has always lived with her feet planted in two worlds—the physical and the metaphysical. She recalls unusual spiritual experiences beginning in childhood, including hearing high-pitched sounds and seeing what she describes as a mysterious “Blue Man with Wings.” Over the years, those experiences, along with periods she describes as dark nights of the soul and spiritual awakening, have gradually deepened her awareness.

What Is Angelic Channeling?

Angelic channeling is generally described as a spiritual practice in which a person seeks to communicate with angels or an angelic realm to receive messages, guidance, wisdom or energy.

People who practice angelic channeling may experience communication through inner hearing, intuitive impressions, meditation, dreams, visions or automatic writing. Some incorporate angel or oracle cards, energy work or other spiritual practices.

Individuals often seek angelic channeling for:

• Reassurance about life decisions

For Lillie, angelic communication is not simply a technique. It is an ongoing spiritual practice that has evolved through her own experiences.

She hears, sees and feels the presence of angels and spirit guides. She has developed a sacred circle of 16 archangels, along with other spiritual beings she says may present themselves.

During her presentation, Lillie will explain how she receives and interprets messages. With the audience’s permission, she may also share messages she receives during the program.

Lillie Leonardi: From Law Enforcement to Spiritual Exploration

Lillie’s professional background makes her story particularly compelling. In 1984, she became the first female patrol officer with the Arnold Police Department in Arnold, Pennsylvania. She later served as a lead law enforcement officer on two Pittsburgh-area college campuses.

From 1998 to 2010, she served as Community Outreach Specialist for the FBI’s Pittsburgh Division, where her work included youth violence prevention and community outreach. She also provided training through the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Pennsylvania on subjects including community policing, crime prevention, cultural diversity, hate crimes, threat assessment and violence reduction.

After retiring from law enforcement, Lillie turned her attention to writing, speaking and exploring the spiritual experiences that have shaped her life.

Her first book, In the Shadow of a Badge, tells the story of her experiences surrounding Flight 93 and the angelic encounter she witnessed at the crash site. Her second book, The White Light of Grace, published by Hay House in 2016, chronicles her continuing spiritual journey and experiences with angelic guidance. Lillie has also written fiction and continues to write articles and other works.
